HS 2007 TARIFF CHANGES

A large number of tariff commodity codes are due to change on 1 January 2007 as a result of the 5-year Review by the World Customs Organisation. Most notably in the Mechanical/Electrical Sector, and affecting IT and Consumer electronics products and miscellaneous products such as toys, games etc. All BTIs that you might hold for the old codes will be revoked.

I can advise on the changes, correlate your existing codes to the new ones, advise whether you should re-apply for BTIs, etc.

The co-relation from the old to new codes is tariff neutral but there will be some possibility of classifying the same goods under lower rates of duty.
